Rebecca (“Becky”) Gilligan grew up just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — the oldest of seven, in a Catholic homeschool family. She first moved to Kansas City as a nanny in 2001. Over the years, she has held many different positions — most notably, working as a property manager for a large apartment complex for 13 years, before leaving to again pursue a more full-time childcare position. Having taken several early childhood education classes, Becky has also worked as a part-time substitute teacher, a church choir director, and a catechism class teacher for many years (Pre-K to 6th grade). She has been a nanny for the family for whom she still works (part-time now) since early 2017 — helping to care for their three young children. She is very excited about the opportunity to work in a Catholic Montessori environment!
Becky lives with her husband, Joe, and their three cats. Because God has not blessed them with any biological children yet, she has tried to dedicate herself to helping other parents with the noble (and sometimes challenging!) task of educating and caring for their own children. She has a deep devotion to the Catholic Faith, and loves learning — especially about our Religion, as well as the philosophies of education.
Some of her favorite things are reading, writing, baking, traveling, local history, animals and music. She is a regular member of the choral group “Musica Sacra” through Rockhurst University.
